Black-fronted wood quail


The black-fronted wood quail is a bird species in the family Odontophoridae. It is found in mountains of northeastern Colombia and adjacent Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Feeding

The Black-fronted wood quail eats insects and nuts especially in summer, as well as plants. Unlike many other bird species, they require a high protein diet.
