Bobby Gibb


Robert Wilton Gibb was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League.

Family

The son of William Doig Gibb, and Rebecca Kate Gibb, née Moore, Robert Wilton Gibb was born at Walhalla, Victoria on 1 June 1902.
He married Doris May White in 1929.

Football

Recruited from the local Leopold Football Club, and one of the team's five debutants — Gibb, Leon Beer, Bob McDonald, John Mitchell, and Jimmy Rodgers — he played his first match for South Melbourne against Melbourne on 28 May 1921.

Death

He died on 24 May 1953.
