. It was named by the
UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee
in
1963
for
Flight Lieutenant
Peter R. Bond,
RAF
,
pilot
with the
British Antarctic Survey
Aviation
Unit
based at
Adelaide
station
in 1962–63.
