observed
in
1958
by the
New Zealand
Southern Party
of the
Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition
and named for
Charles
M. Bowden,
Chairman
of the
Ross Sea Committee
which
organized
the New
Zealand
party
of the
CTAE
.
