metasedimentary rocks
,
dominantly
sandstones
, of
probable
Neoproterozoic
age
. Their
outcrop
on
the island
of
Islay
in the
Inner Hebrides
is entirely fault-bounded, between the
Loch Gruinart
Fault
to
the west
and the
Loch
Skerrols
Shear Zone
to the
east
.
