Bracha Lavee

Bracha Brym-Lavee is a Jerusalem-based artist.
Born Bracha Brym in Poland, she moved to Israel in 1957, where she grew up and studied in Tiberias. She won her first art prize at age seven in Poland, and throughout her schooling in Tiberias was known as the class artist. In 1970, after graduation of high school and completion of military service, she enrolled in the Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem, where she met her future husband, Menachem Lavee, also a designer and artist and full partner in all of her projects. Producing felt tapestries, prints, and her own line of wearable art in the 80s and 90s, her themes focus on Jerusalem, Israel, and the Bible.
