Patty was born in Okeechobee, Florida in 1981. In 2000, he graduated from Lincoln High School in Tallahassee. He then attended Tallahassee Community College before transferring to George Washington University where he earned his BA in International Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs. In 2011, he graduated from London School of Economics and Social Science. He is an Operation Enduring Freedom veteran and is currently a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserve. After graduating from George Washington University in 2005, Brandon joined Governor Jeb Bush’s office and served as special events coordinator before his appointment as a special assistant. As the Governor’s aide to North Florida, he worked closely with stakeholders on important issues and events across the region. After the Governor’s term ended, Brandon moved to northeast Florida where he joined the Mitt Romney for President Campaign as a regional field director and organized voter contact operations in 13 counties. He then successfully managed Angela Corey’s campaign for State Attorney before consulting on W.C. Gentry for Duval County School Board and Lake Ray for the Florida House of Representatives. After a session as a legislative assistant in the Florida House of Representatives, he joined Marco Rubio’s campaign for U.S. Senate in August 2009. Ultimately serving as policy director, Brandon was instrumental in advising the candidate on issues and developing his policy agenda until September 2010 when he matriculated to the London School of Economics for graduate studies in international affairs. As his career progressed, Brandon sought opportunities to serve his country and broaden his experience and knowledge of national security issues. He joined the U.S. Navy as a reserve officer in 2008, and in 2011 accepted active duty orders at the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office in Washington, DC where he advised the office’s director on Middle East issues and managed a variety of projects through 2012. His active duty service continued in 2013 when he volunteered for a mobilization to the Middle East. While deployed, he supported operations throughout the region and closely tracked our adversaries’ efforts to spread violence and destabilize our allies. When he returned home from Operation Enduring Freedom in June 2014, Brandon joined Ed Gillespie’s campaign for the U.S. Senate as a policy advisor focusing on defense and foreign policy issues before accepting a position as a senior consultant at Deloitte in November 2014.
2016 - United States Representative for Florida's 6th congressional district. Patty got three early endorsements from Republican state senators representing the First Coast region: Rob Bradley, Aaron Bean, and Travis Hutson. All announced they are backing Patty. They chose to endorse him over opponents like former U.S. Rep. Sandy Adams who recently withdrew from the race due to health issues and former New Smyrna Beach Mayor Adam Barringer.
