Brian Rice (entrepreneur)


Brian Rice is an entrepreneur, professor, and founder of Business 2 Community, a top 100 business blog as ranked by Technorati and Top 150 Blog by Advertising Age. He is the Director of Integrated Marketing for SAP where he is responsible helping to optimize the organization's digital experiences. He is an adjunct marketing professor at Cabrini College and a regular contributor for many business publications. He has been interviewed on the topics of social media by publications such as Forbes Magazine and GetApp.

Early life and education

Rice attended Cabrini College where he earned a B.S. in Marketing. He went on to attend Erivan K. Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph's University, earning his MBA in Marketing.

Career

Rice began his career with Heidrick & Struggles, a global executive search firm where he served as an intern, maintaining its resume search database. He went on to work for LexisNexis in direct marketing as well as supported its legal publications and conferences promotions. Rice continued his career in marketing by joining Lasko Products where he worked as a sales analyst, prior to joining Unreal Marketing. At Unreal, Rice began as an account executive prior to being promoted to account supervisor.
Rice ventured into entrepreneurship when he co-founded GREENandSAVE LLC in 2007. The company provided environmental news and education to consumers who were looking to remodel their homes in an eco-friendly way. He sold his share of the company in 2010 prior to joining SAP AG, a multinational software corporation that makes enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations. He is currently the Director, Integrated Digital Marketing for SAP.

Business 2 Community

Brian is the founder of Business 2 Community, a business community website which originated as his personal blog and is now co-owned by Rice and Dan Criel. As of April 2014, the site has over 15,000 contributors and posts up to 200 blogs per day. It is considered one of the top 5 small business blogs and one of the top 10 overall business news blogs. The site provides balanced views of the current business landscape and articles posted on Business 2 Community are shared regularly through social media.

Teaching and writing

In addition to his work at SAP and Business 2 Community, Rice is an adjunct professor at his alma mater Cabrini College, teaching direct and online marketing. He is also a contributor to numerous online publications including Forbes,
