Bronze Radio Return

Bronze Radio Return is an American indie/roots rock quintet from Hartford, Connecticut. The band was formed by singer/songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Chris Henderson after he attended the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. Fellow Hartt School Alumni Rob Griffith, and Matt Warner help complete the line-up with Patrick Fetkowitz. The name Bronze Radio Return was inspired by an old radio Henderson grew up listening to in his father's art studio in Maine. Each of the band members are greatly influenced by the music they grew up listening to. "As a result, decided wanted to pay a certain homage to their influences with the music that would make together...the return of the bronze radio."
For over a decade, Bronze Radio Return has traveled the world, urging their listeners to dance and sing along. Their rousing, anthemic sound creates an undeniable upbeat atmosphere that’s one part dance party and another part roots-rock. If their name doesn’t ring a bell, odds are you know one of their acclaimed singles, leaving them affectionately dubbed “the band you’ve probably heard, but haven’t heard of.”
Racking up over 80 million streams on Spotify, and with songs such as “Light Me Up,” “Further On,” "With Me All Along," "There Will Be Another," and “Shake, Shake, Shake,” they have impressively notched over 100 high-profile placements ranging from the 2014 film St. Vincent, to commercials for Nissan and Starbucks, to numerous television shows. Along the way, their hyper-charged and hypnotic stage presence has turned bystanders into believers at festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout, and Firefly, and gained international recognition with tours throughout Europe and China. They've appeared on 7 Sixthman cruise ship festivals at sea, including the Rock Boat, Cayamo, and Live Loud. In 2013, the band performed live on a Southwest Airlines flight as part of the "Live at 35" series.
Producer Doug Derryberry discovered Bronze Radio Return at an NYC show and produced their first self-titled EP in 2008. In 2009 the Northeastern band’s collaboration with Midwestern producer/multi-instrumentalist Chad Copelin brought them to a Southern studio in Nashville and resulted in the creation of a ten-song album Old-Time Speaker. Songs from Old Time Speaker were licensed by Hollister Co. and the new CW Series 90210. The album also charted in the College Music Journal Top 200 where it peaked at No. 102 charted in the top 10 and even reached No. 1 for weeks on several stations. In the Oklahoma City Audition episode of American Idol 2013, "Worth Wondering" was used during the pre-audition back-story for contestant Nate Tao.
On its sophomore full-length recording, the Hartford, CT, based Bronze Radio Return continued to define its sound. Shake! Shake! Shake! found the band continuing to move beyond the roots rock leanings of its debut EP. SHAKE!SHAKE!SHAKE! reunited Bronze Radio Return with Chad Copelin as producer and was recorded in Norman and Tulsa Oklahoma. Since its release on March 29, 2011 SHAKE!SHAKE!SHAKE! debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard NE Heatseakers Chart made the College Music Journal Top 200 List where it peaked at No. 129 and has been licensed by American Eagle Hollister, Anthony Bourdain's Travel Channel show The Layover, HBO's 24/7 Flyers/Rangers Road to the NHL Winter Classic, CW's Hart of Dixie and Polo Ralph Lauren. Bronze Radio Return has also had their song "Shake,Shake,Shake" used in two 2012 American Idol episodes, once again in a 2013 American Idol episode and on a nationally placed Behr Paint/Home Depot commercial.
In 2010, the band signed to DigSin, lead by industry veteran Jay Frank. Frank's model involved signing and promoting singles instead of full albums, as his foresight saw where the world of streaming music was heading. The band released songs from three albums, "SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE!," "Up, On & Over," and "Light Me Up," via DigSin.
The group returned to the East Coast, again with Copelin, for their third long-player, 2013's Up, On & Over. The album debuted at #17 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, landed in the Top 30 on the iTunes Alternative chart and Top 130 overall.
