Bulgaria women's national ice hockey team


The Bulgarian women's national ice hockey team represents Bulgaria at the International Ice Hockey Federation's IIHF Women's World Championship Division II Group B tournament. The women's national team is controlled by Bulgarian Ice Hockey Federation. As of 2016, Bulgaria has 65 female players. The Bulgarian women's national team is ranked 34th in the world.

Qualification tournament for the 2010 Olympics

The Bulgarian women's team has competed only at a few high level international tournaments. First, they played in the qualification tournament for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. They played four games against Slovakia, Croatia, Italy, and Latvia, losing all four games in blowouts. The only goal was scored by forward, Olga Gospodinova assisted by the defensemen Elina Milanova and Sofiya Iliycheva.

World Championships record

In 2011 the Bulgarian Women team played in their first World Championship competition. They were scheduled to compete in the 2009 Division V tournament in Gdańsk Poland, but it was cancelled.
