The international fast food restaurant chainBurger King includes chicken nuggets as part of their menu. Introduced in 1985 as a response to the chicken meat shortage of the time, the chain's chicken nuggets are a popular item on their menu.

Burger King's chicken nuggets are small pieces of formed white meat chicken, breaded and fried. Sizing is contingent on regional preferences of franchises; typical sizes range from 4 to 10-piece portions.
History
The Burger Kingchicken tenders officially made their debut in 1985 to address the absence of a chicken based finger product to McDonald's Chicken McNuggets. Original portion sizes were six-, nine-, twelve and a twenty-five piece party pack. At the time the product had to be withdrawn over limited availability of chicken meat from producers; the product was re-introduced about six months later. Originally made with sliced fillets of chicken, the product was replaced with a formed, chopped-chicken product several years later. Beginning in the 2000s, BK reconfigured the shape from strips to three pointed crowns which were sold in the US, Canada, and other markets, while other markets used traditional nugget shapes. A twenty piece serving size was reintroduced. With the purchase of Burger King by 3G Capital in 2010, the company began introducing new and reformulated products. Chicken tenders were the first product line altered, with a new version introduced in March 2011. In January 2013, Burger King changed the name of the product to BK Chicken Nuggets and dropped the crown shapes in the US and Canada.
Variants
A related product, Fish Tenders, was introduced to complement Chicken Tenders during a 1989 menu expansion. The product was an order of fish sticks sold in the same style container as the Chicken Tenders with tartar sauce for dipping. Portion sizes corresponded to the Chicken Tenders. It was discontinued in 1990.
