CRO Race


The Tour of Croatia is a men's cycling stage race that takes place in Croatia. It is part of the UCI Europe Tour and is rated by the UCI as a 2.HC event, the second tier of professional stage races. The race takes place in April in the build-up to the Giro d'Italia. The event between 2015-2018 was organised by Vladimir Miholjević, a former professional cyclist. In 2019, the race was held in October, in the week after the world championships.

History

2015

In April 2015, the first edition of the race consisted of five stages. It was won by Maciej Paterski, a Polish cyclist.

2016

International cycling race Tour of Croatia was held for the 2nd consecutive year.

    2017

International cycling race Tour of Croatia was held for the third consecutive year. From 18–23 April 2017 through six stages on the route longer than 1,000 kilometres all over Republic of Croatia.

    2018

Starting with the 2018 edition, the Tour of Croatia has received from UCI the 2.HC rating.

2019

Race was called off a week before the start, due to low budget. However there will be similar race in 1-6 October known as CRO Race, organized by Vladimir Miholjević.

Classifications

As of the 2016 edition, the jerseys worn by the leaders of the individual classifications are:

- Red / White checkered Jersey – Worn by the leader of the general classification.

- Blue Jersey – Worn by the leader of the points classification.

- Green Jersey – Worn by the leader of the climbing classification.

- White Jersey – Worn by the best rider under 23 years of age on the overall classification.
