Carl Steven


Carlo Steven Krakoff, professionally known as Carl Steven, was an American former child actor.

Early life

Stevens was a native of Glendale, California. He was the son of Cynthia Krakoff.

Career

As a boy, he appeared in a number of television series and films, with recurring roles on Webster, Punky Brewster, Out of This World, and Weird Science. Steven also appeared in as a young Spock, and in a minor role in Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. He provided the voice of a young Fred Jones for four seasons on the Hanna-Barbera animated series A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, the first actor besides Frank Welker to do so.

Personal life

As an adult, Steven retired from acting. He became addicted to prescription medications after a tonsillectomy, and stole to support his addiction. He married Dawn Krakoff in 1998, they remained married until his death in 2011. He had a son named Noah.

Legal issues

In 2009, Steven was arrested for armed robbery at CVS Pharmacy, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2010.

Death

Steven died on July 31, 2011, at the age of 36, of a heroin overdose while in prison in Tucson, Arizona.
