Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences


Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences is a premier cognitive science center, which was established in year 2002 with the support of University Grants Commission as a Centre of Excellence. CBCS is an independent centre of University of Allahabad.

Research

Main Research Areas are:
The center offers post-graduate degree and doctoral training in Cognitive Sciences. These programs aim to develop a solid foundation in the basic areas of cognitive science in an inter-disciplinary manner and to train the students to perform research using multiple methodologies.

Facilities

The Centre has multiple labs: Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, Neuroinformatics and Intelligent Computing Lab, Visual Cognition Lab, Language and cognition lab, Bio-feedback lab, Virtual Reality lab, Action lab, and Neuropsychology Lab. The Center is equipped with TMS, EEG, and Eyetrackers. Recently, a National Neuroimaging Facility was established at the Centre. This facility houses a functional magnetic resonance imaging scanner, a first in a University setup in India.
