Centro Universitário do Alto Vale do Itajaí


Centro Universitário do Alto Vale do Itajaí is a higher education institution in Brazil. It is headquartered in Rio do Sul in the state of Santa Catarina.

History

UNIDAVI was founded on July 7, 1966 by William Gemballa on the initiative of a group of volunteers. On July 7, 1966, the institution was enacted into Municipal Law No. 613, which created the Educational Foundation of Alto Vale do Itajaí, a community institution, legal entity of private, non-profit organization, created by the community of focused regional development. It went from college to more currently, responds as a University center. It is an institution recognized as a public utility by the Municipal Law No. 625 of September 13, 1966, by State Law No. 3978 of May 31, 1967 and the Federal Decree No. 88,274, of May 3, 1983.
Since 1966 UNIDAVI has expanded in the creation of new undergraduate courses, Postgraduate Studies and School of Basic Education. The initial premises of the institution, in the 1960s, were located in the Don Bosco College of New South Wales, and then transferred to Itajai Açu, in the Jardim América neighborhood.
