Chairel language
Chairel is an extinct Luish language of Manipur, India. It is preserved only in a word list from 1859. Chairel speakers have since shifted to Meithei.Classification
From the words for "sun" and "fire", it is clear that it is a Sal language.
James Matisoff demonstrated that Chairel belongs to the Luish sub-branch of Sal.
