Chazabeh

Chazabeh is a border terminal in Iran which is located in Khuzestan province, south-west of Iran and in common border between Iran and Iraq which is 95 km far from Ahwaz, the center of Khuzestan. Chazabah can be regarded as a famous border terminal which is especially an entry for the ones who intend to travel from Iran toward Iraq through Khuzestan as well as Shalamcheh border.
Recently, Chazabeh has changed to a more well-known border due to its high activity especially in the months Muharram and Safar that hundreds thousands of Iranian/non-Iranian pilgrims choose this border for their travel to Iraq and vice versa. For example, solely, in the first 3 weeks of the Arabic/Islamic month of Safar, more than 700.000 people used this border for their travels.
Meanwhile, Chazabeh had a significant role in the Iran–Iraq War. For instance, in the operation of Tange-Chazabeh, Saddam personally attended the area in order to recapture the city of Bostan, and actually the bloodiest scene of the war between Iran and Iraq happened in that area.
