Chinese Cultural Center, Phoenix


The Chinese Cultural Center was a retail complex in Phoenix, Arizona. Located at 668 North 44th Street on the Northeastern side of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, It was developed in 1997 by BNU Corporation, a subsidiary of COFCO, a state-run enterprise of the People's Republic of China.
The Center was sold by COFCO in 2017 to businessman David Tedesco and redeveloped into a large retail/office complex.

Architecture and Gardens

The main building was topped by a faux Chinese roof adorned with Imperial roof decorations. The east side of the complex had faux Chinese gardens and replicas of ancient Chinese pagodas and statues. The garden was closed to the public in September of 2017.
In 2017, the property was purchased by businessman David Tedesco through development company 668 North. As of 2019, the center and garden have been removed. 668 North preserved and donated all cultural elements to the local community.
