Chinese nuthatch


The Chinese nuthatch or snowy-browed nuthatch is a species of bird in the family Sittidae. It is found in the Russian Far East, China, North Korea, and South Korea.

Description

The Chinese nuthatch grows to 12 cm in length. Both sexes have bluish-grey backs, and buff to orange-cinnamon breasts. The males has a black cap and eyestripe with a white supercilium, and whitish cheeks and throats, while the female has a grey crown, with a narrower supercilium, and is generally duller and browner above and below than the male. The Chinese nuthatch is found in mature coniferous forests or groves of trees.
