Chonghai Bridge
Chonghai Bridge is a bridge, located at, spanning the northern distributary of the Yangtze River in China that is currently under construction. The bridge, along with the Chongqi Bridge and the Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge will connect the city of Shanghai with the north bank of the Yangtze in Jiangsu Province via Chongming Island.Location
It will be built between Chongming County and Haimen City. The bridge is to be located west of Qinglong Harbor on the Jiangsu side, and east of Niupeng Harbor on the Chongming side. It will connect the Ningqi Expressway in Jiangsu to a proposed highway encircling Chongming Island, which would then join the Chenhai A-Level Highway.
The river at the site of the bridge is wide.Construction
It was due to open in 2010. However, as of June 9, 2010, the bridge's location is still under research and planning.
