Chotanagpur Law College is a college imparting legal education in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The College was established in the year 1954 under the tutelage of Barrister S.K. Sahay and was first affiliated to the Bihar University and thereafter to Ranchi University. This college is also approved by the Bar Council of India. The College has UGC and NAAC Accreditation.
Courses
The college offers a five-years integrated B.A. LL.B. course, three-years LL.B. course and two years LL.M. course also. The college is starting a 5-year LL.B for students who have passed the Intermediate exams for academic year 2019. The college takes admission to all these courses through an entrance Test conducted by itself and also takes in students through the LSAT Exam.
Infrastructure
The College has elaborate infrastructure spread over the massive 4 Acre Campus. The College has modern building divided in to several parts such as Administrative Building, Hi-Tech Class Rooms with Digital Board and internet facility, Moot Court Hall with wi-fi facility, Library and Electronic Library and Auditorium Hall with Audio-Visual facilities.
The Swanky New Building is equipped with a Hi-tech Auditorium with Audio Visual amenities with Wi-fi Connectivity.
The College Library is spread over 3000 sq ft. having an Electronic Library for both housekeeping as well as information retrieval. Since it now has a high speed Broad Band line connection to the internet as well as subscription of Manupatras –an online facility of Law Journals, AIR, Supreme Court's Judgments, High Courts Judgments, Subordinate Courts Judgments and any matter of law, it is possible to have easy access to information directly from all available computerized data basesall over the world, not only in the field of law but also in other disciplines. It has wide range of International Titles like American Law Journals, Halsbury Law of England, Encyclopedia of Corpus Juris Secundum among other International Titles which provide an excellent opportunity for Research covering International Topics.
With a computerised library system it is the aim of the library to establish a network of law libraries in India and also to establish a National Legal Information Centre, which will act as a clearing house of information in the field of law. The College has Moot Court Hall with all modern facilities situated on the top floor.

The College since its inception in 1954 has churned out many legal luminaries who have become Judges of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, Judges in many State High Courts of India and the Subordinate Judiciary. The Legal acumen imparted by this historic institution has played a big role and strengthened the pillars of Democracy in India.
