Christopher E. Kubasik is Vice Chairman, President and COO of L3Harris Technologies, a provider of global ISR, communications and networked systems, and electronic systems for military, homeland security and commercial aviation customers. In this position, he is responsible for leading the execution of L3Harris's strategic growth objectives.
Biography
Career
Kubasik joined L3 Technologies in October 2015. On July 19, 2017, the L3 Board elected Kubasik to the position of CEO and President, and to the Board of Directors effective January 1, 2018. When L3 merged with Harris Corporation in 2019 to form L3Harris Technologies, Kubasik was President and COO of the new company. He is planned to take over the Chairman and CEO roles from William M. Brown in 2021. Prior to joining L3, Kubasik had more than 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. In 2010, he was named President and COO of Lockheed Martin Corporation. He previously served as Lockheed Martin's Executive Vice President of the Electronic Systems Business Area in 2008, Chief Financial Officer and, prior to that, Vice President and Controller, positions he had held since November 1999. In his CFO and Controller capacities, his team included tax, contracts, government finance, planning, accounting and reporting, international financial operations, financial shared services and independent cost estimating. While in that role, an ethics investigation confirmed that Chris had a close, personal relationship with a subordinate employee, and on November 9, 2012, Bob Stevens, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, asked for and received Chris Kubasik's resignation. Kubasic had earlier served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Seabury Advisory Group, a leading aviation and A&D professional services firm, and had worked at Ernst & Young, where he was named Partner in 1996. He is currently a Vice President of the Board of Governors of The Wings Club Foundation, Inc. He also serves on the University of MarylandBoard of Trustees. Kubasik previously served on the boards of International Paper Company and Lockheed Martin Corporation, and was on the Marsico Investment Fund Board of Trustees and the USO Board of Governors. He is also a member of the Aerospace Industries Association, the Air Force Association, the National Defense Industrial Association, the Navy League of the United States, and the Association of the United States Army.
