Christian Miller (American football)

Christian Miller is an American football defensive end for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. He played college football at Alabama and high school football at Spring Valley High School in South Carolina.

College career

A four-star recruit heading into Alabama, Miller was primarily used as an outside linebacker in college, although coach Nick Saban sometimes experimented with him at inside linebacker in practices.
Miller's junior season was widely hampered by injuries. His senior season saw him record 8.5 sacks, although Miller strained his hamstring in the 2018 Orange Bowl and missed the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship game due to the injury. Miller stated that his technique improvements while in college made up for his lack of experience in college.

Professional career

At the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, Miller recorded a 38.5-inch vertical jump.
Miller was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
In week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals, Miller recorded his first 2 career sacks on fellow rookie Kyler Murray in the 38-20 win.

Personal life

Miller's father, Corey Miller, was a nine-year NFL veteran.
