Christiane Nord


Christiane Nord is a German translation scholar.

Biography

She studied translation at Heidelberg University ; in 1983 she obtained her PhD in Romance Studies, with habilitation in applied translation studies and translation pedagogy. From 1967 she has been involved in translator training at the universities of Heidelberg, Vienna, Hildesheim, Innsbruck and Magdeburg.
Until his death in 2020, she was married to theologian Klaus Berger. They worked together to translate sections of the Bible.
