Christina Hagan


Christina Hagan is a Republican former member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 50th district. She is the presumptive Republican nominee in the 2020 general election for Ohio's 13th congressional district.

Early life and education

She was born and raised in Marlboro Township, a rural township in Stark County, Ohio. She attended Malone University where she completed her degree in business with minors in business management and political science.

Political career

Ohio House of Representatives

Hagan served as a State Representative from 2011 until 2018. She had previously run against Todd Snitchler in 2008, losing in the Republican primary to replace her father John Hagan.

Candidacies for Congress

Hagan announced in April 2017 that she was running Congress in the 16th district in the 2018 election. She lost the primary to Anthony Gonzalez taking 40% of the vote to Gonzalez's 53%.
On April 28, 2020 after competing in the most crowded field in Northeast Ohio, Hagan won the Republican primary for Ohio's 13th congressional district, with preliminary results showing her winning 66% of the vote. She will be facing incumbent Democrat, Tim Ryan in the general election.

Personal life

Hagan is married to Adam Nemeth who she met while studying at Malone University. Christina's husband Adam is a plumber, electrician, HVAC technician and volunteer Firefighter and EMT in Marlboro Township where they raise their 3 children. Hagan gave birth to her first daughter, Josaphine Jane, in 2015 and their twin sons Colton and Wyatt in October of 2018. The twins were originally due on election day.
