Christopher Drewry


Sir Christopher Francis Drewry KCB CBE was Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps.

Military career

Drewry was commissioned into the Welsh Guards in 1969. He was mentioned in dispatches during a tour in Northern Ireland in 1987.
In 1996 he was appointed General Officer Commanding UK Support Command and in 1997 he moved on to be Assistant Chief of Defence Staff for Policy at the Ministry of Defence. His final appointment was as Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps in 2000. He retired in 2003.
He was appointed a Commanders of the Order of the British Empire in the 1990 Birthday Honours and a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath in the 2000 Birthday Honours.
