Chuck Easttom


William "Chuck" Easttom II is an American computer scientist specializing in cyber security.

Education

Chuck Easttom holds a B.A. from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, a M.Ed. from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, a master's degree in Applied Computer Science from Northcentral University and a Masters in Systems Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, as well as a Doctor of Science in cyber security from Capitol Technology University.

Professional work

In addition to computer security, Easttom has done work in software engineering., applied mathematics, and other areas. He has authored 27 books on computer security, programming languages, Linux, cyber forensics, penetration testing, and cryptography. His books are used as textbooks for both undergraduate and graduate programs at over 60 universities.. He is an inventor with 19 patented computer science inventions.. He is a frequent speaker at major cybersecurity conferences.
Easttom was part of the team that created the original CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Linux+ exams. He created the OSFCE course and test, the EC Council Certified Encryption Specialist course and certification test, and EC Council CAST Advanced Encryption course as well as working on other EC-Council certifications
Chuck Easttom has been interviewed regarding cyber security topics by CNN Money and CBS Smart Planet, and other media outlets, and He has been named a Distinguished Speaker of the ACM and a Distinguished Visitor of the IEEE. He is also a Senior member of the IEEE and Senior member of the ACM .
Easttom is Editor in Chief for the American Journal of Science and Engineering . He was also the director of the Quantum Computing and Cryptography Lab at Capitol Technology University, he is currently an adjunct lecturer for Georgetown University and an Adjunct professor for the University of Dallas. He is the co-chair for the 2020 ACM Quantum Computing and Engineering conference.
