Church of St Adwen, Advent


The Church of St Adwen, also known as St Adwenna's Church, is a Grade I listed parish church situated in Advent, Cornwall. It is an Anglican church in the Diocese of Truro, dated to the 13th century, although mostly constructed in the 15th century. It is dedicated to St Adwen, one of the daughters of King Brychan of Brycheiniog. By 1870 the church had deteriorated and was restored.
The church contains monuments to Elizabeth Bennet, John Batten, and Edward Dinham of Newton, St Kew, as well as a carved granite stone to William Michel, his wife Agnis, and their children Elizabeth, Anne, Margery and Grace.
