Clarence Lee Evans


Clarence Lee Evans was a marine who enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve on May 31, 1941.
Evans said, "A Jap's a Jap and it makes no difference if he is an American citizen."

Awarded Navy Cross at Guadalcanal

After training at San Diego, California, Evans served in the field from January 20, 1942 until November 25, 1942, when he was killed in action on Guadalcanal. He was awarded the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism in capturing two enemy machine gun nests two days before his death.
