Cloetta


Cloetta is a Swedish confectionery and nuts company. The company manufactures and sells local confectionery brands on its main markets Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany and the UK.

History

In 1862 Christoph Cloëtta and his brother Nutin Cloëtta founded Danish chocolate manufacturer Brødrene Cloëttas.
In 1873 Nutin Cloëtta established a Swedish subsidiary, later AB Cloetta.
Cloetta has eight factories in five countries. The two largest factories are in Levice, Slovakia, and Ljungsbro, Sweden.
The company is listed on the Stockholm stock exchange. In 2013, Capital Fud V and CVC Capital Partners sold their holdings of the shares in Cloetta, which were initially acquired in 2005. In 2017, Cloetta finalized a deal to acquire pick & mix supplier Candyking, which operates in th United Kingdom and the Nordic countries.
Some of the candy brands owned by Cloetta include Ahlgrens bilar, Chewits, Jenkki, Läkerol, Malaco, Tupla and Plopp.
