History

The school was opened on November 18, 1927 as George Wolf School, the school named after George Wolf. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1926–1927. It is a three-story, nine bay, yellow brick building with a raised basement in the Late Gothic Revival-style. It features projecting end bays, an arched main center entrance with stone surround, two-story projecting stone bay window, and a crenellated parapet. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
The name was changed to Communications Academy and it was part of John Bartram High School at the time. The name was changed again in 2005 as the current Communications Technology High School. The final principal was Colette Langston. As of 2018, the former high school will be turned into a community center and the pepper middle school building is to be demolished.
