into
George VI Sound
between the
Batterbee Mountains
and the
Steeple Peaks
. It was named by the
UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee
for Flight-Lieutenant
Bertie
J. Conchie,
Royal Air Force
,
pilot
with the
British Antarctic Survey
, 1969–75.
