Conor Lane
Conor Lane is a Gaelic football referee. He hails from the Banteer club in County Cork and has refereed three All-Ireland finals.Career
Lane joined the senior championship referee panel in 2012. In 2013, he refereed the All-Ireland Minor final.
He was involved in a minor controversy when the then Derry manager quit his job following a match over which Lane officiated against Galway in 2015.
In March 2016, he officiated at his first Senior Final Match when Ballyboden played Castlebar Mitchels in the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship final.
Lane was chosen as the referee for the 2016 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final between Dublin and Mayo; he showed James McCarthy the black card in the first half. He was chosen as the referee for the 2018 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final between Dublin and Tyrone, his second All-Ireland final.
Lane also took charge of the 2019 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final replay between Dublin and Kerry. While he was praised for letting the game flow, his performance in the 2019 final replay was also criticised by Colm O'Rourke for being "too fussy... Lane gave all the marginal calls to Kerry in the first half... forgot the advantage rule on several occasions". He allowed Eoin Murchan's second-half goal, which involved rather much more running with, and carrying of, the ball than the rules permitted, and — shortly before the break — he adjudged Michael Fitzsimons to have committed a foul which was really carried out by Con O'Callaghan.
