Dürnten has an area of. Of this area, 60.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 17% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 21.4% is settled and the remainder is non-productive. housing and buildings made up 13.9% of the total area, while transportation infrastructure made up the rest.
