Dačice


Dačice is a town in southwestern Moravia, currently belonging to the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 7,000 inhabitants. It is notable as the home of the sugar cube, which was invented there in 1843 by Jakob Christof Rad.

History

Until 1918, Datschitz - Dačice was part of the Austrian monarchy, in the district with the same name, one of the 34 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Moravia.
