Dakota College at Bottineau


Dakota College at Bottineau is a two-year public college located in Bottineau, North Dakota, United States. DCB offers Associate of Applied Science programs in areas such as horticulture, forestry, wildlife, natural resources, nursing and medical, plus many more. Additionally, DCB offers 2-year Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees with a focus on general education requirement for degree completion; these AA and AS degrees are transferable to bachelor's degree programs at a 4-year college or university. Diploma, certificate, and certificate of completion programs are also offered, which require fewer credits completed than that required for an associate degree. Students also have the option of taking online classes from the comforts of their home.
Founded in 1906 as a forestry school, Dakota College's 35-acre campus is home to the North Dakota Forest Service Headquarters. The college maintains partnerships with other universities across the state of North Dakota to offer degrees. With a 14:1 student-teacher ratio, students receive an education with direct interaction and hands-on learning experiences from professors.
Dakota College at Bottineau's mascot is the Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks. The school colors are Green and White.

Athletics

DCB's varsity athletic teams compete as the Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks. DCB is part of the Mon-Dak Athletic Conference as part of the NJCAA. DCB athletic teams include Men's Baseball, Men's Basketball, Men's Ice Hockey, Men's Football, Women's Basketball, Women's Fast-Pitch Softball and Women's Volleyball. The Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks Ice Hockey men's ice hockey team has won the NJCAA National Championship 10 times.

Name changes

DCB was founded in 1906 as the North Dakota State School of Forestry. In 1968 the school then was affiliated with North Dakota State University and changed its name to North Dakota State University-Bottineau Branch. In 1996 the school became affiliated with Minot State University, becoming Minot State University-Bottineau Campus. It received its present name on August 1, 2009.
