Dance of the Rainbow Serpent Tour


The Dance of the Rainbow Serpent Tour was the twenty-ninth concert tour by American rock band Santana in support of the Dance of the Rainbow Serpent box set. It commenced on February 4, 1995 and concluded on October 30, 1998.

History

The band toured from 1995 to 1998 promoting the Dance of the Rainbow Serpent box set. They had lost their recording contract around this time, but continued to perform around the world. In 1997, Clive Davis attended one of their concerts at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. Davis would sign the group to is Arista Records label in response, and the band started to compose their 1999 album Supernatural. Additionally, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
