Daren Tang
Daren Tang Heng Shim has been Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore since November 2015. It will be taken over by Rena Lee on 1 August 2020.
On 4 March 2020, Tang won the nomination for the post of Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, with the backing of the United States. On 8 May, he was confirmed by the WIPO General Assembly and is scheduled to take office on 1 October 2020.
Tang holds a degree from the Faculty of Law of the National University of Singapore, and an LL.M from the Georgetown University Law Center.
