The Datsun Go is the first car released by the Japanese automaker Nissan under the Datsun brand since its revival in 2013. The brand was used for Nissan exports prior to its discontinuation in 1986. Named after the "Dat-Go", Datsun's first car launched in the early 20th century, the Go is available in developing markets such as India, South Africa and Indonesia. It is based on the same Nissan V platform as the Micra/March.
History
On 20 March 2012, it was announced that Nissan would revive the Datsun marque as a low-cost car brand for use in Indonesia, South Africa, India, and Russia, and on 15 July 2013, nearly three decades after it was phased out, the name was formally resurrected. Nissan said the brand's reputation for value and reliability would help it gain market share in emerging markets. On 15 July 2013, Nissan unveiled the Datsun Go globally in Delhi, India, and planned to be on sale in India in early 2014. On 17 September 2013, Nissan unveiled both Datsun Go and Datsun Go+ in Jakarta, Indonesia and showcased both the cars in Indonesia International Motor Show 2013 and was planned to be on sale in mid-2014 under the Low Cost Green Car program. In Indonesia, Datsun Go+ was launched in May 2014 under the LCGC program. It was available in 4 trims: basic D, A, T, T Option, and later T Style. Datsun Go A and Datsun Go T Option is equipped with electric power steering, steel wheel with cover, central door lock, keyless alarm, immobilizer, power window, and JVC single-din head unit with FM radio and USB. Datsun Go T Style came with all equipment T Option has, plus rear power windows and body kits with silver ornament. On August 6, 2014, Datsun Go T Style and Datsun Go T Active was introduced. In August 2014, Datsun Go was launched in Indonesia following the Go+ Panca. As of 2015, it was available in 3 trims: T, T Option and the stylish T Active. As the top model, Datsun Go T Active came with all equipment T and T Option has, plus aero kits, body side moulding, silver painted cluster, fin and shift Base, JVC single-din head unit with FM radio and USB, and rear power windows. As of 2018, the facelifted Datsun Go is available in 4 trims: T CVT, T, A, and D, plus one special edition T Ultimate. Nissan launched Datsun Go+ in the Indian car market in 2015. At that time, GO+ was available in four trim levels. The company claims that the engine returns an impressive ARAI certified fuel economy of 20.62 km/l. The facelifted Datsun Go and Datsun Go+ with automatic transmission were launched in Indonesia on 7 May 2018. They shared the same dashboard as the Datsun Cross. On 2 August 2018, Datsun Go Live special version was introduced. Later in 2019, Go Live is equipped with Vehicle Dynamic Control as seen in Datsun Cross.
Cross Delhi
The Datsun Cross is the crossover version of the Go+. It was launched in Indonesia on 18 January 2018 in two versions; the manual-transmission version and the automatic CVT version. After it received criticism for its low crash test rating in ASEAN NCAP and Global NCAP, Nissan equipped the Cross with dual airbags and Vehicle Dynamic Control, later available in Datsun Go Live. In 2020, it was phased out.

Technical characteristics
The Go is powered by a 1.2-litre straight-three engineEFI which is also used in the Micra Active. This engine produces and of torque. The Go sacrifices performance in order to further improve fuel consumption.
Safety
During a crash test in India, the Go received a zero rating from Global NCAP, prompting NCAP's chairman Max Mosley to request that the car be withdrawn from the market in a letter to Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn as it was completely wrecked during the test.
Sales
From its launch in 2014 up to May 2015, Datsun Go Panca and Datsun Go Panca Plus sold almost 30,000 units in Indonesia, 70 percent of it came from Datsun Go Panca Plus which 5 seaters plus 2 seaters for children. The best sales among South Africa, India and Russia.
Awards
In the 2016 Frost & Sullivan Automotive Awards, Datsun Go+ Panca got Indonesia Value-For-Money Car of the Year Award for its market share, product innovation and also marketing and business development strategies.
