Dave Alpert


Dave Alpert is a Los Angeles based journalist who served as a correspondent for ABC News, covering the entertainment industry, showbiz and breaking news. In addition to daily reporting for hourly radio newscasts, affiliate two-ways, podcasts and show prep services, he also provided voice-overs for television packages, appeared live on "World News Now" and "World News This Morning", and contributed to ABCNews.com. He reported extensively on the events surrounding the 2009 death of pop star Michael Jackson.
Alpert joined ABC News in New York City in 1981, moving from Chicago where he was a popular local radio news personality.
Alpert was also one of the early employees of the London-based entertainment news agency now operating as World Entertainment News Network.
Beginning in May, 2011, Alpert provided custom local newscasts for radio stations around the country through Virtual News Center.
Alpert was a news anchor for KABC Radio, Los Angeles from 2013–2017. His reporting is now heard on Westwood One News.
