David Alleyne

David Alleyne is an English first-class cricketer. He is a wicket-keeper and a right-handed batsman.
Alleyne signed for Middlesex in 1997 as a wicketkeeper-batsman. He had limited opportunities with the first team but was 2nd XI player of the season in 1999, 2000 and 2002.
He then signed for Nottinghamshire in October 2003, to take the gloves and bat in the top order, with many expecting Chris Read to have a prolonged International career. However much of Alleyne's time was spent playing in the Second XI as number 3 batsman and wicket-keeper. Alleyne had a productive 2006 season, playing 12 first-class games mainly opening or a number 3. Against Warwickshire in May 2006, he scored his maiden first-class fifty in the first innings and trumped that with his maiden hundred in the second.
With Chris Read dropped by England, Alleyne decided to leave Nottinghamshire in 2007 and emigrated to Australia.
