David Firth (actor)


David Firth is an English actor, writer and singer for stage, film and television. Firth was a member of the original cast of Phantom of the Opera with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman.

Early life

David Firth was born in Bedford on 15 March 1945. He was educated at Bedford Modern School, the University of Sussex and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Career

Firth was with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre and part of the original cast of the Phantom of the Opera.
During his stage career, Firth was in the cast of King Lear, The Hunting of the Snark, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Jubilee, Assassins, Knickerbocker Holiday, Follies, Forty Years On, Love Life, Passion, The Fix, Die Fledermaus, On A Clear Day, Good Grief, HMS Pinafore, Susanna's Secret, Jubilee, Der Kuhandel, Journey's End, Cenerentola, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Relatively Speaking, Our Song, Coward and Others, The Man Who..., The Shell Seekers, Yellow Lines, Park Avenue, Dirty Dancing, and Phantom of the Opera.
Alongside his stage career, Firth has performed in a number of films and television series, and is credited as a writer on The Return of Shelley, Home James! and Sorry, I'm a Stranger Here Myself.
