Del Staigers


Charles Delaware Staigers was an American cornetist. He was born in Muncie, Indiana. In 1919, he played as a soloist with John Philip Sousa's band. In 1926, he joined the Goldman Band and played with them through 1934.
He died on July 12, 1950, at age 52 of a heart condition. In the words of Edwin Franko Goldman, Staigers was the "greatest cornetist in the world".
