Dera Bugti District


Dera Bugti is a district within the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It was established as a separate district in 1983.

After the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti, the chief of the Rahija sub-tribe of the Bugti tribe Nawab Mir Aali Bugti is the current tribal chief of Dera Bugti.

Demography

According to the Census of Pakistan 2017 the population of the District Dera Bugti is 312,603. % of the people of the area are Muslim, and the predominant first language is Balochi, although there are also groups of speakers of Punjabi, Saraiki, and Pashto. The Bugti is the Baloch tribe in the district.

Education

According to Pakistan District Education Rankings, a report by Alif Ailaan, district Dera Bugti is ranked at number 136 nationally, with an education score of 38.12 and learning score of 48.13 and gender parity score of 28.14.
The national rank according to readiness is 152, with a readiness score of 22.8. Dera Bugti has one of the most poor infrastructure in the country reflected in its ranking of 152, with a score of 14.62. Lack of functional toilets and shortage of electricity is a major problem.
