developing

Cochrane–Orcutt estimation
procedure.

of Melbourne in
1945
, after
serving
in the
Royal Australian Air Force
during
World War II
. He continued his studies at
Clare College, Cambridge
,
earning
a
doctorate
under
supervision
of
Richard Stone
.
