Douglas Carnegie


Lieutenant-Colonel Douglas George Carnegie was a British politician.
He was the son of Lieutenant-Colonel George Carnegie, 9th Earl of Northesk and Elizabeth Georgina Frances Elliot.
Carnegie was commissioned into the 3rd Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment in 1888. He resigned his commission as a Major in 1905. From 1917 to 1918 he served with the Labour Corps and was promoted Lieutenant-Colonel.
He married Margaret Jean Johnstone-Douglas, daughter of Arthur Henry Johnstone-Douglas and Jane Maitland Stewart, on 26 April 1894 and had four children:
