Dubai American Academy


Dubai American Academy is located on 23 acres of land in the Dubai suburb of Al Barsha.
The 70,000m2 campus includes a full provision for athletics and performing arts, with a 50m Olympic pool, 400m running track, a large gymnasium, playing fields and shaded playgrounds, theaters, and dedicated studios for music and arts for all grade levels.

Curriculum

The school provides education from KG1 to Grade 12, offering an enriched American curriculum along with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Very high standard of education.

Students

The total student body has over 2,752 students enrolled. In total over 100 nationalities are represented within the student body, with the biggest numbers coming from the US, Canada, India, S. Korea and Egypt. There is a 51:49 male to female ratio.

Campus & facilities

In 2017 Dubai American Academy merged with Gems Nations Academy and moved into its campus. The new campus houses a wide range of facilities on its twenty three acres: computer labs, a weight room, science labs, drama and music rooms, art studios, two library media centers and over 400 restrooms. It also has two swimming pools, a football pitch, tennis courts, and large gyms, including a fully air conditioned indoor gym with a running track.

Activities

Students at DAA can participate in a variety of sports and non-athletic activities. It is a founding member of the Middle East South Asia Conference. It used to be a member of the Eastern Mediterranean Activities Conference, but left that conference in 2010 to co-start MESAC.
Dubai American Academy also has various student organizations such as its Ambassador program which allows chosen representatives to help new children adjust to the school and a Student Government/Student Council for the 3 levels of the school. There are also various student-led clubs available such as Global Politics Society, S.P.E.C.S, Environmental Club, and Model United Nations. The school's Model United Nations club, DAAMUN, has over 170 internally registered members and hosts an annual high-school level MUN conference.
