Dwight Friedrich


Dwight Paul Friedrich was an American politician and businessman.
Born on a farm in Marion County, Illinois, Friedrich served in the United States Navy during World War II and was in naval intelligence. Friedrich went to Brown's Business College, Southern Illinois University, and University of Minnesota. Friedrich lived in Centralia, Illinois and was in the insurance, investment, and real estate business. Friedrich served in the Illinois Senate from 1953 to 1965 and then served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1975 until 1987. He was a Republican. Friedrich died in an automobile accident when his automobile hit a median on Interstate 57 near Neoga, Illinois and flipped over several times; he was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
