Eastport, Michigan


Eastport is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Torch Lake Township, Antrim County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 218 at the 2010 census.
The community of Eastport was listed as a newly-organized census-designated place for the 2010 census, meaning it now has officially defined boundaries and population statistics for the first time.

Geography

The community is located in northern Michigan between Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan and the northern end of Torch Lake. U.S. Highway 31 runs through the center of the community, intersecting state highway M-88. US 31 leads north to Charlevoix and north to Petoskey, and it leads south to Elk Rapids and to Traverse City. M-88 leads southeast to Mancelona.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Eastport CDP has a total area of, of which, or 0.35%, is water.
