surveys
by the
Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey
, and was named by the
UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee
for
Richard Lovell Edgeworth
, the
British
inventor
of the "portable railway," the first
track-laying
vehicle
, in
1770
.
